A very funny story which turns some common story tropes on their head.
Wolf is big and bad. He eats rabbits, blows down houses and terrorises grannies. Except no one seems to be afraid of him any more. There's another baddie in this story, and wolf might have to take on another role. Will he be able to take the new baddie down, or is it time to try being a hero instead?
This picture book is so much fun! Wolf's confusion at the other character's lack of fear had us giggling on every page.
The design is very clever too, with flaps, fold out parts and peep through holes in the page. Little Tiger always produce brilliantly designed interactive books, and Watch Out Wolf is one of their best. There is a hole in the book for wolf to fall through (it's hard to look tough when you need to be rescued by bunnies!), a clever cauldron and a lovely fold out picture on the final page. Every page is interactive and fun, ensuring that this story really engages young readers.
If you like funny picture books, twisted fairytales, or interactive stories, this is definitely a picture book for you.
Thank you Little Tiger for sending me a copy to review.
